COVID situation on the island of Ponza

The island of Ponza COVID Free

Mass vaccination has started on the island of Ponza, a campaign that should be completed by June.

This was announced by General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, on the occasion of the remodeling of the vaccine plan and the president of the Lazio Region, Nicola Zingaretti, guest at Mattino 5 on Canale 5 reiterated it.

The request of the mayors of the smaller islands was therefore accepted, who had exposed to the government the need for mass vaccination for the population, to protect the safety of residents in view of the start of the summer season and the arrival of tourists.

The campaign started on Wednesday 5 May and is expected to end by June.

The goal is to secure the whole island before the summer to make it an attractive destination for 'Covid-free' tourism - controlled and as safe as possible.

Another very important aspect is that vaccinations are carried out on the island, so residents just need to go to one of the vaccination points, without the inconvenience of travel to the mainland.

It remains to be understood how we will reach the beach this summer. Among the hypotheses is to show the vaccination certificate or the negative test carried out within the previous 48 hours before boarding.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Ponza Francesco Ferraiuolo announces that this summer, to avoid queues and gatherings, it will be possible to book and purchase tickets from the various shipping companies online to reach the island of Ponza.
