Small fraction of the island, 15 minutes away from the port on foot, there are: a small church, the remains of the Roman port, the cistern of the "Serpente". From 27 July to 7 August 1943 Benito Mussolini, as a prisoner, stayed in the building on the beach now used as a boarding house. The ancient Roman port of Santa Maria was once known as "Circe". Unlike what it appears today, it extended all the way inside.

It is said that at the time when the rock had a phallic shape, sterile women went there on pilgrimage at night, considering it a talisman. A collapse of the summit put an end to this superstition.

Sheltered bay, there are tuff rocks comfortable enough for sunbathing, escort service from the port. Temporary dock and path leading to the fort, built in 1813.

The color of this type of rock is greatly influenced by climatic conditions. With a clear sky and clear air, the tuff becomes particularly white, with an overcast sky and humid air, the tuff approaches the dark shades of gray. Inaccessible area by land, it remains in the shade from about 4.00 pm.

It is possible to enter it with small boats and with the engine off, a hole in the Greek-Roman aqueduct is visible at the top. The recommended time to visit is in the morning hours.

The beach gets its name from a rock in the shape of a wounded core / heart, dripping with blood. It stays in the shade from around 2.30pm.

Split at the base to look like a priest's tunic, also known as the faraglione and mollusc cave. It can be crossed by swimming or with a canoe.
In this area the passage of the Greco-Roman aqueduct which from Cala dell'Acqua reached the town of Ponza is clearly visible. In the second half of the 18th century, the steps (still used today) were dug out of the rock to reach the homes of the Torresi settlers who settled in Le Forna from the port. Next to the houses there is the path that leads to the hamlet of Le Forna. Accessible by land, it remains in the shade from 4:30 pm.

Part of the Ponza toponyms are in the Neapolitan dialect ("Spaccapurpo"). This is because in 1734 Ponza was repopulated by colonists from Ischia and Naples, who gave the territory of the island the most varied denominations. Passable by medium-sized boats, the depth varies from 6 to 3 meters. It is better not to anchor near the arch due to the frequent comings and goings of boats. Inaccessible by land, it remains in the shade from about 3:30 pm.

It takes its name from the hill of the same name ("Schiavone"). It is made up of stones large enough but at the same moment a little bit uncomfortable to lie down and sunbathe.

It is located almost at the end of the island and is excellent for those who love uncrowded areas; it can be reached along a stairway of about 300 steps carved into the rock.

Going around the island of Ponza by boat, it is easy to reach the islet of Gavi, located about a hundred meters away from the main island. There are no beaches, only rocks and a cave called "Grottone di Gavi".

It is located in the north of the island of Ponza and can only be reached by sea; it is so called because the green fern ("felce") almost reaches the beach, it seems to be on a desert island.

It is one of the most beautiful coves in Ponza; the caves dug into the rock are what remain of the shelters of the Ponza fishermen to guard the boats.

It can be reached through a path and then a suggestive staircase overlooking the sea, when you immerse yourself in the crystalline water repays the effort made. The place can be best discribed as wild and uncrowded.

It can be reached via a dirt path and a stairway of about a hundred steps; it is not very crowed even in high season.

It is an excellent diving spot, at 10 - 30 meters. deep there is the wreck of an English ship; in this area there was the old bentonite quarry. Here you can admire beautiful sunsets.

It can be reached via a small road adjacent to the Church of Le Forna; it is excellent for those who love to enjoy the sun and the sea in complete tranquility. By swimming you can reach the Natural Pools.

Between stairs and paths you reach this rocky cove in "Le Forna", a paradise with 3 natural pools that look like cenotes from above. Popular destination for the limpid and crystalline sea; it is possible to rent canoes and pedal boats to explore the wildest points.

It is the only sandy beach in the hamlet of "Le Forna", suitable for families with children, even if to reach it it is necessary to go up a staircase of about 250 steps.

The pebble beach can only be reached by sea, a true corner of paradise. The sea is crystal clear to say the least, other than the Caribbean.

The inlet carved by the sea shows a cliff of various colors; even more beautiful is the submerged part with tunnels and small caves. The legend says that a girl "Lucia Rosa", in the 19th century, unable to marry her beloved, put an end to her lovesickness by jumping from the cliff.

Characterized by a white rocky wall that reaches sheer down to the crystal clear sea, it is a heavenly place. A stop is a must.

In order not to disturb the peregrine falcon, a guest among the cracks, it can only be reached by rowing boats or by swimming to admire the play of light reflecting in the water and the sound of the sea breaking on the wall. Even the director Federico Fellini was bewitched by the place, here he shot some scenes of the film "Satyricon".

Place of indescribable charm, it is located between Chaia di Luna and Capo Bianco, it is about 50 meters long and at the ends it is possible to visit two small beaches. The legend says that the sorceress Circe went down to this cave to refresh. It is one of the most beautiful to visit for the colors and the immensity of the vault.

It is the most famous beach on the island, in the shape of a half moon, with fine white gravel giving the water magnificent blue streaks; it is dominated by a yellow-white cliff of about 100 meters in height. Unfortunately, access is closed to the public, as is the 200 meters long Roman tunnel which allowed to reach it; today it is possible to admire it by boat from a distance or at sunset, one of the most beautiful in the world, from the small pitch overlooking it.

You can get there by sea and then along a little path, or if you like to walk it is also possible by feet via a mule track in about 40/50 minutes from the port. This area is known for the ancient vines that have their roots in the Bourbon domination and the cultivation of legumes.

Reachable both by sea and by land, it is characterized by a rocky spur about 298 meters high and is of volcanic origin; on the promontory there is a lighthouse that projects the beam of light up to 30 miles away. The seabed is considered one of the most beautiful marine areas on the island. In 1952, Jacques Picard, with the bathyscaphe "Trieste" reached, for the first time, 3150 meters in the sea of Ponza in 2 hours and 15 minutes assisted by the corvette "Fenice".

The pebble beach can be reached by sea, but with a little training and especially for trekking enthusiasts, can be even reached on foot from Località Scotti via a path that is not exactly comfortable. There is a Roman necropolis that was partially destroyed due to various collapses and the path is now impassable.

It is a solitary and sharp rock that somewhat resembles the shape of a pair of calzone / trousers; the legend tells that a mute sailor, unable to shout his joy at the sight of the beautiful landscape, threw his trousers on the rock that took its shape, hence the name of Calzone del muto.

It is a group of outcropping rocks that look like a line of marching ants; it is one of the most interesting spots for diving. Thirty meters deep there are several canyons and further down the seabed is populated by red gorgonians, groupers and moray eels.

Parata degli Scotti, a strip of stony beach that precedes the great Faraglioni of Calzone Muto.

They can only be reached by sea, but they were once connected to the mainland and were part of the villa of Augustus in Ponza. In the rock a chapel has been dug in honor of the Madonna della Salvazione, from which it derives its name.

Off the coast of Punta della Madonna there are three stacks, reachable only by sea, an ideal stop for a dip in the crystal clear waters of the island.

It is located a short distance from the port, in front of Pilate's caves; perhaps its proximity to the coast makes it rich in fish and sponges.

By digging the tuff, the Romans created a system of caves called le murenaie / the morays of Ponza, for the breeding of moray eels; they are connected to each other by submarine tunnels that join an external tank.
